We checked out of our hotel in Florence and headed to the train station this morning. I met a cool lady at the train station while waiting for our train to arrive. She is from LA but has lived in Florence for over 20 years. She apparently stayed on after she came here for school. She looked marvelous and very confident. She gave me her name but I forgot to get her email. I took a picture of her.
Rome is very crowded and it was very hot and humid today- 101 degrees F. We planned ahead and asked for a private driver to help us get to the hotel.
