The Night Electricity Went Out in Venice

I woke up at 4 am local time and was not able to go back to sleep. Trying to make myself useful, I decided to charge up the stuff we brought- 4 cameras, 2 game boys, 2 cell phones, lap top computer, and an external photo hard drive. Well, I kind of shorted out the circuit at 4 am and the electricity went out for the whole building. It was really really dark. I didn't want to call down to the front desk and let them know what happened and went back to sleep. Around 5 am the circuit breaker kicked back on again. Lucky for me.

With electricity and lights in the bathroom back on, I decided to take a shower at 5 am. They have this neat electronic shower control for all the different water jets. Well, there is this one control that looked like an umbrella. It was fun trying to get all the different water jets to work. Half way through the shower, the hotel security called the room and asking us if everything was ok because someone had pushed the emergency button. I am telling you the truth, the button looked like an umbrella. My kids (and the hotel management) seem to think the button looks like an emergency bell.

I was happy that I am able to provide some interesting entries for my kids' journal today.
