Last Day in Rome

Wednesday, July 18, 2007

Today is our last day in Rome and my last post using the free Rome WiFi network. We spent the day just walking around town and contributing to the local economy- shopping. My daughter and I had our spaghetti lunch again and plan to have our last spaghetti dinner tonight. That would make 20 spaghetti meals all together. We are leaving for the airport tomorrow at 6:45 AM going back home and will still need to figure out how to get our VAT refund stamp. I took some random people picture today around town and will have to find some way to upload them at the airport or once we get home. It is very hot in Rome and the business people are still wearing suits and ties.

The Callbackworld.com system worked very well. We were able to use the Italian local toll free 800 number directly from the hotel rooms to call home. I also was able to use the "call back" feature using my cell phone a few times. My Italian SIM card will be useless once we get back to the US and I may try to eBay the card. Anyone interesting in a TIM Italian SIM card real cheap?

This trip has been incredibly fun for the family and uploading the photos and blogs has been an interesting experience for me. (I just had to move to a different location as the homeless people are coming in.)

I am sure I will think of many things to add to this blog once I get home. It is going to take me months to go through all my photos. Oh, there is one thing I must mention, the pizzas here are really thin. No Deep Pan Pizzas here.
